TEAM OF THE WEEK: Green Bay East
The Red Devils won the 113th meeting in its historic rivalry against Green Bay West. East racked up 413 yards of offense in the 70-0 shutout win, which marked the most points scored by a team in the series. Senior Chris Morris rushed for 118 yards and four touchdowns, while senior Jermiah Flowers rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown in addition to making 10 tackles and two forced fumbles to lead the way for the Red Devils.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Ben Jaeger, Wrightstown: The junior, pictured at top of article, rushed for a team-high 115 yards and added three catches for 73 yards and two touchdowns to help the Tigers remain undefeated with a 42-28 victory over Fox Valley Lutheran.
Derik LeCaptain, Southern Door: The senior rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries in addition to making two interceptions in the Eagles’ 16-7 victory at Algoma.
Nathan Stenzel, Sevastopol: The senior threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns, and made 10 tackles on defense to lead the Pioneers to a victory over N.E.W. Lutheran.
Tyler VandeHei, Seymour: The 6-foot, 215-pounder posted 13 tackles, including 10 solo stops, and a forced fumble in the Thunder’s 41-19 victory over Shawano. It’s the fourth straight game the senior has posted double-digit tackles.
Elijah Wright, De Pere: The senior continues to be a disruptive force on the Redbirds’ defensive line, making 14 tackles and a ½ sack in a 60-13 victory over Sheboygan North.
OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK: Bay Port
The Pirates totaled 421 yards of offense, including averaging 4.8 yards per carry in rushing for 267 yards and didn’t allow a sack in a 28-0 victory at Pulaski behind the offensive line of left tackle Daniel Forystek, left guard Jacob Nugent, center Dailin Danforth, right guard Ty Dorvinen and right tackle Braden Doyle.
