A look back at top performances from Week 4 of the high school football season from the Green Bay area.

Players of the week

Andrew Gruesen

Andrew Gruesen, G.B. Notre Dame: Kicked a game-winning field goal for the second time in three weeks by connecting from 37 yards out in the closing seconds to give the Tritons a 24-21 victory at Pulaski.

Derik LeCaptain, Southern Door: Accounted for all four touchdowns in the Eagles’ 28-27 victory at Kewaunee. The junior reached the end zone on a rush, reception and interception return in the first half. He caught a 79-yard pass for a touchdown with less than 2 minutes remaining and ran in the 2-point conversion for the deciding points before intercepting a 2-point conversion attempt by Kewaunee with 37 seconds remaining to seal the win.

Max Meeuwsen, Bay Port: The sophomore recorded three sacks in a win at Ashwaubenon, helping to limit the Jaguars to 100 passing yards.

Braydon Smith, Wrightstown: Racked up an area-high 242 rushing yards on 10 carries and scored four touchdowns in a win against Clintonville.

Kaleb Timm, G.B. East:  Made eight receptions for 234 yards and two touchdowns against New London. Timm’s 234 receiving yards is believed to be a single-game school record for East.

Offensive line of the week: Bay Port

Max Salscheider, Ben Rathburn, Matt Rotter, Eli and Owen Trast cleared the way for 576 yards of offense, including 456 rushing yards in a 48-21 victory at Ashwaubenon.
