Week 3 Top Performers
A look back at top performances from Week 3 of the high school football season from the Green Bay area.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Kewaunee
Senior Ryan Carmichael found sophomore Ben Heim for a 10-yard touchdown to give the Storm a 21-18 victory over Coleman. It was the second straight week Kewaunee rallied for a victory by scoring the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter.
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Seth Alexander, Denmark: The senior made five receptions for 157 yards and caught two touchdowns, while also rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown to lead the Vikings to a 32-14 win over Oconto Falls for their first victory of the season.
Nick Baudhuin, Southern Door: The junior rushed for 403 yards on 37 carries and scored six touchdowns in the Eagles 39-14 victory over Crivitz. Baudhuin broke Jim Flanigan’s single-game school record for rushing yards from 1989 and tied Flanigan’s single-game record for touchdowns.
Ben Jaeger, Wrightstown: The senior rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Tigers (3-0) to a 26-24 victory over Fox Valley Lutheran in a North Eastern Conference matchup.
Connor Ramage, Ashwaubenon: The junior rushed for a team-high 99 yards and caught six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown to help the Jaguars stay undefeated with a 24-13 victory over Green Bay Preble.
Reece Worachek, Luxemburg-Casco: The senior averaged 7.4 yards per carry in totaling 155 yards and three rushing touchdowns in addition to catching a 68-yard touchdown to power the Spartans to a 31-8 victory over Marinette.
OFFENSIVE LINE OF THE WEEK: Pulaski
The Red Raiders averaged 6.7 yards per carry in totaling 267 rushing yards and five touchdowns in a 41-0 shutout over Sheboygan North. Pulaski recorded 346 yards of offense behind the blocking of Logan Kobus, Zach Berndt, Max Steinbrecher, Bennett Sheedy, Nick Rasmussen, tight end Dalton Winter and fullback J.J. Szymanski.
DEFENSE OF THE WEEK: De Pere
The Redbirds forced five turnovers and scored two defensive touchdowns in a 31-6 victory over Sheboygan South. Sam Hafner made 16 tackles and return a fumble for a touchdown, while Bennett Spaeth returned an interception for a touchdown to help De Pere win its first game of the season.
