Standings in the Stands: Week 6
Standings in the Stands made the big stage last week.
It was the lead topic of discussion when we made a guest appearance on WFRV Channel 5’s High School Sports Xtra last Saturday. Click here to watch the video evidence.
Thanks for Ryan Rodig for having us on and for recognizing the efforts of those making signs and noise from the stands.
Not only that, but Ashwaubenon, Green Bay Southwest, Luxemburg-Casco and Pulaski all received five bonus points for making their way onto the show.
Remember, we award a participation trophy at the end of the season for Standings in the Stands. So, your participation is necessary to win.
If your school hasn’t participated in Standings in the Stands yet, there is still time to get back into the game and chase that No. 1 spot.
Follow the directions at the bottom to read how your school can earn bonus points to play catch up.
If you want to see your school make the cut next week, send AP photos and/or videos on Twitter (@AndrewPekarek), Snapchat (AndrewPekarek) or Facebook (PrepsAgenda) of your crew showing its fandom at a game this week.
As always, student sections, bands, teachers, principals and parents are encouraged to apply.
5. G.B. Southwest
Michael Vivian, the MVP of this group, was sick last week and placed on the inactive list for the squad’s trip to Sheboygan. Vivian did say in an exclusive interview that Maddie Gibson was going to step up and handle the “snapping duties” for the game. Unfortunately, Maddie forgot. However, we appreciate Vivian’s efforts in continuing to lead S³.
4. Seymour
We appreciate versatile student-athletes. The Thunder had a couple of them we noticed last Friday night. Kudos to juniors Aaron Fadroski and Joey Coonen for pulling double duty by playing in the football game and playing instruments in the band at halftime. Fadroski was playing the saxophone, while Coonen was rocking it on the drums.
3. Pulaski
We were glad to see the Zac-Pack return to lead the Red Seas last week. However, this group has some catching up to do if it wants to capture the championship. Earning bonus points for this group will be key down the stretch.
2. Ashwaubenon
Road trips can be tough, but the Pineapple People continued to show up last week during its trip to Manitowoc. The Jaguar rowed the boat past the Ships to earn 10 bonus points for best use of a group mascot. It has been an incredible year thus far from the Pineapple People, and AP is looking for A/C (Addison Stromberg and Chayse Earney) to finish strong in pursuit of a championship.
1. Luxemburg-Casco
The ‘Burg climbed to the top spot this week with its strongest effort of the season. The ‘Burg received 10 bonus points for displaying the most “AP” signs in the stands. However, what put the ‘Burg over the top this week was the return of Sparty, who is now being played by Trevor Kinnard. The ‘Burg now finds itself in a tie in the season standings heading down the stretch run. Can Miceli Mania lead the ‘Burg to a championship?
