Standings in the Stands: Week 5
A look at “Standings in the Stands” from Week 5 of the high school football season.
You can tell business is starting to pick up as we reach the midway point of the season because last week by far saw plenty of contenders to pick from.
I thought I was seeing great innovation at halftime when the Pulaski Red Sea, pictured above, passed around a cut out of what it deemed a virtual “Kiss Cam.”
However, it turns out these things have been around for several years because I saw after the game that Bay Port also had one.
I guess I need to pay attention more.
If not for that discovery, Pulaski would have received the No. 1 spot this week. The Red Sea still brought it strong and is in good position to win the season championship, though.
Remember, if you want to see your school make the cut, send AP photos on Twitter (@AndrewPekarek), Snapchat (AndrewPekarek) or Facebook (PrepsAgenda) of your crew showing its fandom at a game this week. We’re still working out the kinks in saving Snapchat videos, but we have a fix for this week that should work.
As always, student sections, bands, teachers and parents are encouraged to apply.
The “Standings in the Stands” grand champion is a participation trophy, so your participation is needed to win.
5. Wrightstown
We know you were decked out in camo, but we could see the Tigers this week. We’re proud of this group for contacting us correctly for the first time this year via James Hansen. Hansen is doing it all for the Tigers because he’s also the quarterback of the undefeated football team. We hope somebody else can help out Hansen because he can’t be running the offense on the field and in the stands.
4. Ashwaubenon
Much like L-C in previous weeks, we expect to see even greater effort after we give someone the No. 1 spot for a week. Tark Meske continues to be a dominant force and we apologize for not saving the videos from the stands correctly this week. Jen’s contributions also give the Jaguars perhaps the most dominant duo in the area.
3. Luxemburg-Casco
Despite being short-handed with the volleyball team out of town, the ‘Burg still brought it strong this week. The Spartans also took advantage of the bonus points opportunity with their signs, but we encourage them to still work just as hard in their Advanced Placement classes. Danae Srnka continues to coach up this group and was breaking down the film on Saturday in preparing for this week.
2. Pulaski
Emily Higgins led the Red Sea with a strong marker board presence at Bay Port. This a group to watch out for because it hasn’t come close to peaking yet this season and is still looking to reach the No. 1 spot for the first time.
I present to you the @PulaskiRedSea tonight. I should have brought my barn overalls & mesh hat tonight. I would fit right in. #wisfb #hsswi pic.twitter.com/nXY6RrHpmZ

1. Green Bay Southwest
The Trojans have come a long way this season under the direction of John Gahnz. Sources tell us a majority of those miles have come on horse and buggy. Not only did they pick up bonus points with the “AP” sign but the “Pekarek Pals” sign put them in the top spot this week.

(Earn 3 bonus points in Week 6 by sending an ‘AP’ and ‘Pekarek Pals’ poster in the crowd.)
