Standings in the Stands: Week 1
It was a momentous occasion last Thursday at Dahlin Family Stadium as we crowned our 2017 “Standings in the Stands” grand champion.
Principal Bohm accepted the award with great pride on behalf of student section legend John Gahnz.
The “Standings in the Stands” grand champion is a participation trophy, so your participation is needed to win this year.
We saw some fierce competition in Week 1 as 2018 got off to a good start. However, we know you can do better, so read below for how you can receive bonus points in Week 2 for your school.
If you want to see your school make the cut next week, send AP photos and/or videos on Twitter (@AndrewPekarek), Snapchat (AndrewPekarek) or Facebook (PrepsAgenda) of your crew showing its fandom at a game this week.
As always, student sections, bands, teachers, principals and parents are encouraged to apply.
5. G.B. Preble
Public-address announcers are very important to us here at Preps Agenda. Preble has one of the best in Mr. Kline. His silky-smooth voice makes selling concession stand food a breeze between drives. Mr. Kline single-handedly got the Hornets’ Nest on the board this week thanks to his shout out to us during Preble’s Week 1 victory. Will anybody in the student section step up for the remainder of the season?
4. G.B. Southwest
The Southwest Student Section – a.k.a. S³ – has the potential to be a repeat champion. However, it didn’t show it in Week 1. Legend John Gahnz is proving to be tough to replace, but we believe this group can do it and step up its Snapchat game in future weeks.
3. Pulaski
The Red Sea was decked out in green and gold last week, so it was hard to see them at first. Thankfully, it still recognized us. The Red Sea was rather boisterous as usual. We’re happy to report the group is being led by the Zac-Pack this year. The Red Sea looks like a serious contender this year and is the early favorite to win Polka week later in the season.

2. Luxemburg-Casco
The ‘Burg is an organized organization. The transition from Danae Srnka to Amanda Miceli was a smooth handoff. While Miceli Mania was running wild on Beach Night in Denmark last week, the ‘Burg earned the No. 2 spot thanks to the little dude who kept retrieving its beach ball from the track. The kid has an impressive arm and even made a couple of completions to UWGB basketball recruit Cassie Schiltz.
1. Ashwaubenon
False starts don’t exist here, so we didn’t mind that the Pineapple People from Ashwaubenon sent us an “AP” chant already in Week 1. Obviously, Tark Meske and Jen taught this group well. We’re not sure who is directing this show, but we’re impressed by it so far. It also had the most creative sign with the giant cutout of a Raid can for its game against the Hornets.
