NEC Recap: Denmark’s Kralovetz shines on home track
DENMARK – Leah Kralovetz shined in her last home meet.
The Denmark senior posted impressive victories in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs on Saturday to repeat as the North Eastern Conference champion in both events at Leiterman Field.
Kralovetz broke both of her meet records to do so.
She recorded a season-best time of 5 minutes, 2.50 seconds to win the 1,600, topping the rest of the field by 30 seconds.
Kralovetz followed it up with a time of 10:43.53, beating the runner-up finisher by 1:09.
Kralovetz was one of four individuals for the host Vikings to win NEC titles.

Four titles for Denmark boys: Denmark senior Jackson Koenig won the shot put (48 feet, 7¼ inches) and discus (140-5) titles with personal-best throws in each event.
Meanwhile, junior Seth Alexander won the long jump with a leap of 20-7¾.
Although Alexander didn’t repeat as the triple jump champion, he did set a new personal-record with a distance of 41-2½ to finish as runner-up. The mark is 2 inches off the school record.
Denmark senior Connor Sisel also won the boys 3,200 with a time of 10:04.89 to help power the Vikings to a third-place finish in the boys field.
Speedy Spartan: Luxemburg-Casco finished fourth in the boys standings.
The Spartans were led by a first-place finish from senior Griffin Geib, who won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.48 seconds.
Beining wins another title: Brianna Beining captured another NEC title, but it likely wasn’t the one the Wrightstown senior was anticipating to win.
Beining recorded a season-best jump of 32-11¼ to win the girls triple jump by a ¼ of inch over Freedom sophomore Maya Vosters.
Beining’s win came after she came up short of winning a fourth straight NEC title in the high jump.
Wrightstown sophomore Annika Opichka finished as the runner-up in the high jump, posting a personal-best mark of 5-5 to break a NEC record. However, Clintonville junior Elly Arndt also cleared the mark and won the conference title based on attempts.
Tough outing for Oconto Falls: Oconto Falls finished fifth in the girls standings.
The Panthers got a runner-up finish by junior Ericka Havemeier in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.01 seconds.
Havemeier, who leads the Green Bay area this season in the girls 100 and 200, sustained a leg injury at the conclusion of the race.
It was an equally tough draw for Oconto Falls senior Brent Wolf, who got off to a fast start in the boys 300 hurdles before falling to the track midway through the race with a leg ailment. To Wolf’s credit, he got up and completed the race.
Havemeier and Wolf will both hope for better results at WIAA regionals next Monday as they attempt to make runs to state.
