Bay Recap: West De Pere sweeps team titles again
The West De Pere track & field team produced a familiar finish Monday at the Bay Conference track and field meet.
The Phantoms swept the girls and boys team titles for a fifth straight year. The girls outscored runner-up Shawano 199-92, while the boys topped New London 219-142.
The West De Pere girls won six events, including junior Kaylee Olson capturing conference titles in four individual events.
Olson won the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.76 seconds and swept all three jumps. She won the high jump by clearing 5 feet, 2 inches in addition to breaking two Bay Conference records in the long jump (17-11¼ and triple jump (37-2¾).
The Phantoms also swept the hurdles, as senior Pejha Mitchell won the 100 hurdles (15.93) and freshman Hailey Neta won the 300 hurdles (50.3).
The West De Pere boys dominated the running events to win another Bay Conference title.
Not only did the Phantoms win all four relays, but they won the six open runs as well with the Evans brothers accounting for those victories.
Sophomore Tejay Evans won the 100, 200 and 440, while Jermaine Evans won the 800, 1,600 and 3,200. Tejay repeated as the 200 and 400 champion. Jermaine was a repeat champion in each of his races.

Green Bay West enjoyed a stellar meet.
The Wildcats won five events between their girls and boys teams.
Junior Jason Wright repeated as the boys champion in the shot put with a throw of 47-6.
The Green Bay West girls won the 400 and 800 relays. The Wildcats also got individual wins from senior Maria Hunter in the 200 with a time of 26.81 seconds and sophomore Skyler Genz in the discus with a throw of 104-7.
Green Bay East’s lone conference title came from its girls 1,600 relay with a time of 4:20.51.
The Seymour boys produced conference champions in four individual events.
Senior Cody Roskom in won the discus with a throw of 140-2; senior Miguel Hernandez won the pole vault by clearing 13-6; junior Ty Witthuhn won the triple jump with a leap of 41-6¼; and sophomore Logan Mattson won the high jump with a mark of 6-4.
On the girls side, Seymour’s Erin Schuh was a repeat champion in the pole vault with a clearance of 10-6.
